Niagara, Rentals, Milton, Racing, MEC and French Castle

Spring is finally showing its warmth in Niagara. The daffodils and magnolias are now blooming while workers in the vineyards prune before budbreak.  Cyclists have begun to invade our great rural routes and paths throughout the region.

Steve Bauer Bike Tours is also experiencing spring fever in the office as we have received many requests for custom and corporate tours of the Niagara region.   After more than 15 years we continue to offer unparallel cycling tours of the wine region and customise our routes to suit the groups ability.  Easy, cruising vineyard rides near Niagara-on-the-Lakeor more challenging terrain on the Niagara escarpment may be designed to satisfy each group’s requirements.

During all these years operating bike tours, the number of wineries in the region have doubled, reaching over 80 wineries.  The large diversification in grape varietals and vinification methods is producing quality wines which will please the connaisseurs.  In addition to wineries a new trend of a few micro breweries is emerging.

NEW in MAY - BIKE RENTAL
Beginning in May, Steve Bauer Bike Tours will have road specific bicycles available for rent on request basis.  Contact us to book and arrange your ride.

MILTON VELODROME
Since the begining of April, Steve Bauer has officially begun the position of Head Coach at the  Mattamy National Cycling Centre scheduled to open this fall.  Steve is working diligently with a small team at the town of Milton to develop the Milton Cycling Academy which will offer structured training programs at the Velodrome.

RACING
As Steve never seems to get enough challenges, he has hit the local and long lasting Good Friday Road Race (Ontario Cup #2) and the Paris to Ancaster Spring Classic last weekends.  So don't be surprised to see the old boy next to you at the start line this season.

MEC RIDER EXPO NIGHT in TO
Not to miss on Monday April 28, from 7:00 to 10 pm the MEC Rider Expo Night. Steve will be presenting a keynote speech at the MEC’s Toronto (400 King St. West.)   Steve will talk about his career highlights such as the Olympic games,  Tour de France,  World Cycling Championships including stories of his world travels followed by a question and answer period.  You must register to attend and must be 19 years or older.   Looking forward to meet attendees at the MEC on Monday night.

FRANCE & CASTLE
Still time to register for our Signature Trip France in a private castle.  This trip is perfect for cyclists’ couple who love to ride, indulge and follow the race.

Until next time; keep the rubber side down!

All the best from all of us at Steve Bauer Bike Tours

  • Wow! The entire tour was terrific. I got much more than I expected. I have and will continue to recommend it to everyone I know. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Your guide made sure that I learned to shift my gears properly so that I wouldn’t get too tired.

  • We wanted to express our sincere thanks to you and your staff for an excellent tour. You did an outstanding job! Your equipment was, without question superior by far and your exceptional organization, attention to safety and detail, and your energetic and enthusiastic staff are truly to be commended. The private tours of wineries and wine tastings, pre-arranged by you, made our job very easy! Our group thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we look forward to coming back to SBBT in the future. Thanks again for a great day!
