About us

Steve Bauer retired from professional racing following the Olympic Games in Atlanta, 1996. In the spring of 1997 Steve Bauer Bike Tours was founded with the initial platform to focus on tours of the Niagara Wine Region in Ontario, Canada. Over the first two years the company developed quickly and soon offered its first international trips to France and Italy.

Steve Bauer Bike Tours was designated as the official inbound tour operator for the 2003 UCI World Cycling Championships in Hamilton, Ontario. In fact, Steve helped design the challenging race course for the event and he thoroughly enjoyed seeing the top cyclists in the world compete on the roads he trained on as a teenager.

The key theme of Steve Bauer Bike Tours is to provide a unique, exclusive, hands on personal service for cycling guests to ensure everyone thoroughly enjoys a worry free, memorable experience while traveling with us.

The company has extensive experience and knowledge developing one-of-a-kind experiences to the of the most renowned cycling events such as the Giro d'Italia, Tour de France or the annual UCI World Road Cycling Championships.

Guests enjoy the feeling of being in the environment of a professional race, challenging themselves on the race course or the challenging terrain the pros race on while at all times savouring the wonderful experiences Europe has to offer, without being concerned about challenging travel logistics.

Steve continues to oversee the activity of Steve Bauer Bike Tours as the president while providing expert knowledge of travel, the competitive cycling world and participating in the Signature Trips with the qualified SBBT guide team.
