The 2008 UCI Road World Championships are hold in Varese, Italy and obniously Steve Bauer Bike Tours will be there.
Join us for some fantastic rides in the Lago region along the Swiss border known for great cycling routes in a region of hills, lakes, great Italian hospitality and home of Assos cycling apparel.
A Special Place in Steve's Heart
During his racing years, Steve always placed a lot of emphasis on the one day races, especialy the Worlds! To use his words, "I was pretty much a Worlds guy". In fact, Steve first burst onto the professional racing scene by shocking the racing establishment with his unexpected 3rd place finish at the 1984 Worlds in Barcelona. Steve made the transition from Olympic amateur Silver medalist to top world cycling professional suddently and and remained so for over a decade.
So the annual Worlds played an important part in Steve's racing career and continues to have a special place in his heart. Steve designed the 2003 UCI Road World Championships course in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

In 2009, the UCI Road World Championships will be held in Mendrisio, Switserland. The race dates are September 23 to 27, 2009.
If you cannot make it to experience the 2008 Worlds; we hope to welcome you next year in Switzerland.
